Barrettine Environmental Health has launched Grain-Tect ULV, an insecticide protectant for stored grain and pulses. As part of its integrated pest management approach, the company is offering advice on minimising the risk of infestation, with monitoring traps and free insect identification.

Grain-Tect ULV contains 6g/l deltamethrin and 54g/l piperonyl butoxide. It is applied with an industry-standard ultra low volume applicator with an enclosed nozzle, at 42ml/tonne of stored crop. This protects against flying insects for up to 3 months and crawling species for a year. The product is supplied in 20-litre containers through a network of distributors, and treatment cost is estimated at £1/tonne. If necessary, Barrettine can supply high-accuracy digital dosing pumps and advice about nozzle choice and installation.
