Limagrain UK has appointed Agrovista to distribute its Sinclair McGill portfolio of grass and clover mixtures, alongside agronomic advice and services, throughout Scotland. This arrangement extends and complements its existing supply deal in south western Scotland through the Lanarkshire-based L S Smellie & Sons merchanting and rural retail business.

Agrovista and Limagrain already work together in promoting LG amenity grass, cereals and maize seed products.  “Getting involved in the premium agricultural grass seed brand Sinclair McGill is a logical progression,” notes Agrovista head of strategy Peter McDonald. “Our agronomist network will give us a great opportunity to build this business.”

For Limagrain, grass seed manager Ian Misselbrook adds: “The agreement with Agrovista means we can offer a distribution network throughout Scotland.  Agrovista’s team of 20 agronomists operating nationally will help us meet the strong demand for the Sinclair McGill range throughout Scotland.”

The Sinclair McGill grass seed and forage crop range will be available from the L S Smellie Country Stores at Strathaven and Campbeltown; Agrovista’s store at Newton Stewart or direct delivery to anywhere in Scotland from Limagrain’s mixing facility and store at Forfar, subject to 24 hours notice.
