Forage crop specialist Germinal has appointed Bill Reilly as its area sales manager to cover the central and southern counties of England and Wales. Mr Reilly joins Germinal from AHDB, where he was a grass and forage scientific officer.
In his new post, Mr Reilly will report to Ben Wixey, Germinal GB national agricultural sales manager. His main role will be providing technical assistance to merchant customers and supporting Germinal’s grass and forage crop ranges. Mr Reilly is from a farming background and has a BSc in Animal and Crop Production from University College Dublin and a Masters in Arable Crop Production from the University of Essex.
“There is enormous potential for livestock farmers in Britain to build more sustainable businesses through better use of modern forages,” Mr Reilly says. “I believe Germinal is leading the way in the forage sector, in terms of its award-winning varieties, innovation and the diversity of ideas being brought to the market. I look forward to my new role with the company, applying my scientific background and practical understanding of livestock farming to help distributors and farmers capitalise on the opportunities that exist.”
