The Control of Worms Sustainably (COWS) group has appointed Sara Gregson, an agricultural communications specialist, to carry out knowledge transfer co-ordination and delivery to its target audiences, including farmers, advisors and vets.
Ms Gregson, a former editor of the British Grassland Society (BGS) magazine Grass and Forage Farmer, has run her own marketing communications company for the past 22 years. She won a Nuffield Scholarship to study grassland farming in 2006, and is currently the director in charge of communications at the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association.
NFU animal health and welfare adviser Rebecca Veale, who is a COWS group member, says: “Sara joins us at an exciting time for COWS as we look to develop the impact of our activities and resources across the UK.
“We are redesigning our website and want to bring more life into our communications in the form of farmer case studies and video. Having Sara as our communications lynchpin will be crucial to being able to achieve this.”
COWS is an industry-led initiative that aims to provide people working with cattle with the best, evidence-based information on the sustainable control of parasites, including gut worms, lung worms and liver fluke.
