Crop protection product distributor and agronomy services company Procam has appointed Diane Heath as its managing director.
She joined the business in November, and will succeed UK managing director John Bianchi after a handover period. Mr Bianchi is retiring after more than three decades in the industry, the last 21 with ProCam and its predecessor companies. He oversaw considerable growth in that time, including the recent acquisition of Field Options to widen ProCam’s scope into forage crops for livestock.
Mrs Heath joins from Origin Enterprises, where she was head of crop protection, after six years at its subsidiary Agrii as head of crop protection. Prior to that, she spent over a decade at BASF, where she rose to the role of UK sales manager.
“This is a hugely exciting time to join ProCam, a company that prides itself on providing agronomy tailored to the needs of individual farmers,” said Mrs Heath.
“While crop protection remains at the heart of what we offer, recent years have seen increasing expertise in seeds and traits, crop nutrition, biological products, conservation agriculture and precision farming. All of these allow us to provide a fully integrated service – something that will be increasingly important as farmers face a number of technical challenges over coming years.”
Mr Bianchi adds: “I know ProCam will be in safe hands: well-structured to continue providing top-level service to existing and new farmer customers over the seasons ahead.”
