Feed manufacturer ForFarmers is to consolidate its organic feed production in Holland at a single site, following a recent acquisition.

The Group’s Reudink organic business acquired the Van Gorp Biologische Voeders organic feed operation last October.

From July 1st, ForFarmers will transfer the Van Gorp Bio volume from its present mill at Schalkwijk to the Reudink production facilities at the Group headquarters in Lochem. At the same time, all feed will be marketed under the Reudink brand.

The Group says the two sales forces have already been integrated, and the manufacture at a single site will enable it to produce and market organic feeds more efficiently.

The move is in line with ForFarmers’ group wide efficiency plans, including the combination of production locations and measures to enhance the supply chain wherever possible. In the UK, the company is to close its Blandford mill with the volume moving to the Exeter and Portbury plants.

No decision has been taken yet on the future use of the Schalkwijk feed mill.
