The AF Group has appointed Helen Whittle to the new role of procurement and commercial director, a role designed to oversee AF’s supplier and key partner network. She will also implement AF’s procurement and commercial strategy to deliver more value to its members.
Ms Whittle has commercial experience across a range of industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, the automotive industry and electronics, working for corporates such as Johnson & Johnson, Jaguar and Novartis.
“I wanted a company that was looking for growth, which wants to move forward,” she comments. “When I started to talk to AF, we shared a common goal for achieving best in class procurement and delivering the absolute highest returns for our members.”
AF is focused on win-win situations to benefit both its members and its suppliers,” Ms Whittle continues. “For me it’s about building relationships – human beings are the lifeblood of the company. There are going to be challenges, but nothing we can’t overcome. We’re leaders in the industry, and we have the courage to listen and help guide our members, even in times of great change.”
“Drawing on her international experience and impressive track record within blue-chip organisations, Helen will help us forge even greater ties with our suppliers and deliver more value back to our members,” adds AF Group chief executive Jon Duffy. “Helen’s appointment marks another important chapter in our national strategy and, with the wealth of knowledge she will bring, I am excited for all those connected with AF.”
