ADM Agriculture’s Chris Guest has been appointed as managing director of Cambridgeshire-based LS Plant Breeding from June 1st 2020. He succeeds Theo Labuda who established the UK business and is retiring after a 40-year seed trade career. Mr Labuda will assume a consultancy role on his retirement from full-time involvement.

Mr Guest will continue to manage ADM Agriculture’s seed operations as head of seed until his departure at the end of May. He joined Gleadell Agriculture (now ADM Agriculture) in 2008, working his way up to seed manager. In April 2019, he was promoted to head of seed, managing the company’s retail seed business and the former Dunn’s pulse processing operation.

He is currently chairman of the AIC Seed Sector committee and sits on the AIC Board. He is a former member of the AHDB Recommended List committee.

“I am delighted that Chris is joining LSPB to lead our team as we continue to develop our portfolio,” commented Mr Labuda. “We are proud of the wide range of varieties we offer as the UK subsidiary of NPZ-Lembke , a privately-owned plant breeding company with a long track record of bringing successful varieties to UK growers.”
