ADM Agriculture has appointed James Barlow to succeed Chris Guest as its head of seed, after Mr Guest moves to lead LS Plant Breeding in June.

Mr Barlow is from a Nottinghamshire family farming background. After graduating, he worked as representative for a farm machinery dealership covering the East Midlands alongside work on the family farm.

In 2015, Mr Barlow moved to Gleadell Agriculture, now ADM, as a farm trader, joining the company’s seed department as retail seed manager 18 months later. This position carried responsibility for day-to-day leadership of the retail team alongside technical and commercial management. Mr Barlow has full BASIS and FACTS accreditation and is a licenced crop inspector.
