The Agricultural Industries Confederation says that supplies of essential inputs are reaching farmer customers and farm gate collections are continuing during the COVID-19 disruption – but it asks farmers to plan ahead and liaise with their distributors.

The AIC states that its members from all sectors – animal feed, arable marketing, crop protection, fertiliser and seed – across the UK report that farm supplies chains are working hard and holding up as business adapts to the rapidly changing economy.

“The AIC lobbying to ensure that essential workers are still able to go about their business means that AIC member companies remain able to help UK farmers and growers after the very wet autumn and winter,” observes AIC chief executive Robert Sheasby.

“Our customers are asked to plan ahead and continue to engage their advisers and suppliers with their anticipated demand to ensure continuity of delivery of inputs and grain collections is maintained.”
