Humphrey Feeds & Pullets has appointed Alison Colville-Hyde as its poultry specialist for the mid-South West region.
She has spent much of her career working in the poultry sector and has an extensive knowledge base ranging from bird welfare, vaccinations and red-mite and disease control, to field management and optimisation of productivity.
From a Devon family farming background, Ms Colville-Hyde was most recently with Devon-based veterinary services business St David’s Poultry Team, where she spent ten years as a technical field advisor. Before that, she was an area field manager with integrated poultry meat processor Lloyd Maunder, managing organic broiler production across 45 sites in the West Country.
“I am really thrilled to have joined Humphrey Feeds & Pullets as a poultry specialist as it combines the two elements of my career that I am most passionate about – helping producers improve their productivity through sharing my technical and practical knowledge of poultry,” she says.
“Alison has already brought bags of enthusiasm and knowledge to our field team and we are delighted that she has joined us,” adds Martin Humphrey, sales director of Humphrey Feeds & Pullets. “Her experience of different production systems and disease control – two particularly hot issues for our industry – is outstanding and I know her energy and ‘can-do’ attitude will be of real benefit to our customers in the West Country.”
