Tom Hind, currently chief strategy officer at the AHDB, has been appointed chief executive of the North York Moors National Park Authority from the end of September.

Mr Hind started his career at the NFU as a dairy adviser in 2003, later becoming head of economics and director of corporate affairs. He left the union in 2013 to become Tesco’s first agriculture director and joined the AHDB in his present role in 2015.

“Growing up in Yorkshire and enjoying the beauty and tranquillity of the National Park as a visitor – this role means a great deal to me on both a personal and professional level,” says Mr Hind.

“I believe I can bring valuable experience and passion to the National Park Authority, not only in terms of land management policy, but also in working in partnership with other stakeholders and government.”

Chair of the National Park Authority Jim Bailey adds: “I’m really excited to have appointed Tom Hind as our new CEO. The Members selection panel were impressed by Tom’s strategic talent and energy. The level of research work was very impressive, and his knowledge of business and land use issues will be valuable in the changing times ahead.”
