Agronomy services company ProCam has appointed Matthew Cobbald as its regional technical manager to cover the eastern counties of England.
Mr Cobbald brings over 20 years’ experience to his new post. He has been technical director with corporate farm management and advisory company Velcourt since 2018. Before that, he spent 11 years as an Agrii agronomist in the Essex and Suffolk region, and started his career in farm management with Strutt & Parker.
Mr Cobbald will join ProCam’s panel of regional technical managers, providing support to the company’s team of agronomists across East Anglia and neighbouring counties, in addition to looking after his own farming clients. He will also contribute to ProCam’s technical council and will be involved in the direction of the company’s multi-site trials programmes.
Commenting on his new job, he says: “This is a critical time for farmers and the wider agricultural industry and an exciting time to be joining ProCam. There are challenges ahead, for sure, whether presented by the regulations on pesticide use, climate change, or political direction, but there are also great opportunities.
“I believe as agronomists we have a pivotal role in helping farmers adapt their businesses for the future – a more integrated approach will be essential as farmers seek to adapt in the years ahead.”
