The NWF Group contained the cyber attack that affected two of its divisions – feeds (NWF Agriculture) and fuels – earlier this month within ten days, with minimal disruption to operations.
The Group had reported the incident and suspended trading in its shares on November 2nd, with share trading recommencing on November 12th.
“Upon becoming aware of unauthorised access to its IT systems, the Group acted promptly to instigate precautionary measures and engaged specialist external support to contain and manage the incident,” says a Group statement. “Following extensive investigations, supported by cyber security experts, the Group is satisfied that the incident has been contained and additional security measures have been applied to all of the Group’s IT systems.”
The NWF board does not expect any material impact on underlying trading. There will be a cost of some £0.5 million net of insurances, but not a material impact on the Group’s finances.
