Adama Agricultural Solutions UK has appointed Ben Miles as its new managing director. He succeeds Rob King who left the business in January 2021 to become general manager of Sipcam UK.

Alison Bosher, who has been interim general manager since Mr King left, moves to the role of go to market director; a position which sees her take charge of Adama’s commercial strategy for the UK and lead the company’s marketing, technical and regional agronomy teams.

Mr Miles joins after five and a half years with BASF, most recently as head of marketing for the UK and Ireland at BASF, with earlier roles as head of customer strategy and BASF AgSolutions manager. Before that he spent 10 years with Syngenta, initially in the UK and then in Australasia as marketing head and head of cereals and seedcare. He was a non-executive director of the First4Farming trade back-office platform from 2003-05.

“I’m exceptionally pleased to join Adama UK,” says Mr Miles. “As the fourth largest supplier of crop protection products to the UK arable sector – and with a wide portfolio of unique, proven and trusted fungicides, herbicides, molluscicides and plant growth regulators – Adama UK is perfectly positioned to help British growers improve the quality and yield potential of their combinable and non-combinable crops.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ali for her untiring commitment to fulfilling two roles during the past 12 months,” he adds.
