The AF Group has appointed Helen Whittle as interim chief executive, after David Horton-Fawkes, in post since late 2020, stepped down from the role in December last year.

Mrs Whittle is chief procurement officer at the farmer owned purchasing group. She joined AF in September 2019 as procurement and commercial director, after holding senior procurement roles with companies including Novartis, Jaguar Land Rover, EON and Johnson & Johnson. She was interim AF CEO in the August to December 2020 period between Jon Duffy and Mr Horton Fawkes.

“It’s an honour to lead such a well-established co-operative and I’m truly excited to be part of its next phase of growth,” Mrs Whittle says.

“This opportunity marks an exciting new chapter, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the talented team at AF Group, as well as engaging with our loyal members, suppliers and partners to continue buying better, together.”
