The Carr’s Group has confirmed Josh Hoopes as its chief executive and as an executive director on the board from 30th June 2025. He succeeds David White who has left the company.

The appointment, first announced in early May, follows the restructure of the Group in the wake of the divestment of its Engineering division.
Mr White joined Carr’s in January 2023 as chief financial officer, becoming chief executive in December that year in a board reshuffle after the Group sold its 50% share of the Carr’s Billington Agriculture merchanting and rural retailing operation.
Mr Hoopes first joined the Group in March 2024 as chief executive of the Global Agriculture division, charged with transforming the agriculture business. He had previously spent a decade at Associated British Foods, including five years as managing director at AB Agri, responsible for the Intellync and AB Dairy divisions.
“I am delighted to welcome Josh to the board and into his new position as CEO,” comments Carr’s Group chairman Tim Jones. “The board has full confidence in his ability to lead the execution of our refined strategy, deliver sustainable profitable growth, and create long-term value for shareholders. On behalf of the board, I would also like to thank David for his dedication and strong leadership during his time with the company and wish him every success in the future.”
Mr Hoopes adds: “It is an exciting time for the company as we embark on our journey as a pure-play, specialist agriculture business. Our rich heritage in research proven, value-added livestock supplements combined with a new and refreshed strategy provides us with a strong platform for future growth. I look forward to working with our teams to capitalise on the many exciting opportunities ahead.”
