The annual Harbro charity Christmas lunch, held at Barra Castle in December last year, raised £45,000. The chosen charity for 2025 was Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian, which provides support and palliative care for cancer patients.

Harbro started the annual event in 2021 to raise money for charities in the northeast of Scotland, in memory of Cara Baxter and colleague Shona Hay. The company has raised over £100,000 since then.

The latest of the events saw over 300 farmers enjoy a festive meal and entertainment, sponsored by several Harbro suppliers. ANM Group auctioneers Colin Slessor and Fraser Chapman adding to the funds through an auction of items such as holiday accommodation, golf experiences and football tickets.

“The farming community have really embraced this event, and we couldn’t have achieved this amazing amount without their support and generosity,” says Harbro chief executive Chris Baxter. “The Friends of Roxburghe House supported our family and Shona’s family at the most difficult time, so we know how important their work is – we’re proud to have raised this incredible amount to help them continue to provide vital support for both patients and their families.”
