Deputy director for the MAGB

The Maltsters Association of Great Britain (MAGB) has appointed Kathryn Hamlen as deputy executive director from 5th May. She will support executive director Dr Julian South.

Ms Hamlen has spent her career to date in seeds with Syngenta, specialising in malting barley and wheat. Her work at Syngenta has included technical leadership, marketing management and variety development roles and includes the successful launch of malting barley varieties such as Craft and Laureate.

“Kathryn combines strong analytical and project management skills with deep industry knowledge, stakeholder engagement experience and an ability to translate complex technical data into clear, compelling messaging,” says the MAGB. “Kathryn is passionate about supporting the malting supply chain and is excited to contribute to the future direction of the UK malting industry.”
