Compound Feed Engineering (CFE) the specialist in the refurbishment of feed mill press dies and rolls, has been acquired by the US multinational feed and food process engineering business CPM. The CFE Group has represented CPM equipment in the UK and Ireland markets since 2010.

CFE was established in 1996 by Con Lynch and Pat Dennehy. It is now the supplier of aftermarket consumables, pelleting equipment and engineering services to the animal feed and biomass industries across Ireland and the UK and is the European leader in die and roll refurbishing. With its headquarters at Castleisland in Ireland, CFE has its separate refurbishment and service plants at Haydock on Merseyside and employs 61 people in total.

CPM can trace its history back to the California Pellet Mill business in the 1880s and has grown bu a series of acquisitions in the intervening decades, including the creation of a Dutch subsidiary to cover the European market in 1961. It says the acquisition brings CFE’s team, customer relationships and specialist refurbishment capability into CPM, in a move that will strengthen and expand the company’s ability to support its customers across Europe.

“Over 30 years we’ve built a global business with a superb team in Ireland and the UK,” states Mr Lynch. “With the firepower that CPM will provide, our team will take new opportunities to innovate and expand into new markets for the benefit of our customers, employees and stakeholders.”

CPM chief executive Dave Webster adds: “CFE brings the kind of practical technical knowledge, local support and customer focus that fits well with CPM’s aftermarket strategy in Europe. Together, we’ll be better positioned to support customers across the full lifecycle of their equipment.

“We are excited to welcome the CFE team to CPM. Its experience, technical knowledge and commitment to customers are a strong addition to our business. The acquisition supports CPM’s broader aftermarket strategy, including expanded local service, stronger lifecycle support and continued investment in capabilities that help customers operate reliably and efficiently,” Mr Webster concludes.

Existing customers of both businesses are advised to continue working with their current CPM or CFE contacts.
